Here’s a not-so-friendly reminder that recycling is your responsibility – DO IT!!!
As often as we can, we’re trying to promote the idea that recycling is your responsibility. Imagine if we all tried to pass it off as something that wasn’t our problem to deal with. If we think it’s something that we can leave for the next generation to deal with, then there won’t be a next generation, and it will be all your fault.
Whether it’s toner cartridges, plastic forks, toys, or cups – you better do it, or else you’ll be for it! Last month the director of the first ever UK coffee cup recycling scheme urged the Government and businesses to tackle the rising tide of coffee cup waste.
He stated that “Everyone needs to take responsibility; the reality is that everyone has been getting away with it for a long time. Everyone in the industry knew that cups weren’t being recycled”.
One suggestion supported by the campaign is to introduce a 25p charge on all drinks that are sold in disposable cups – a “latte levy”. Similar to the plastic bag charge that was introduced in October 2015.
Guess what? The same goes for your toner cartridges. You must take responsibility to recycle your toner cartridges, or provide a service for your clients. You can’t get away with not doing so anymore – it is a legal requirement.
